OLD SETTLERS 2019

This year's theme was American Legion Centennial of Honor. It celebrated the American Legion Auxillary. We participated in the window display competition that showcased local businesses and organizations competing for the grand prize. This year, Villa Maria & Maria Court took the overall sweepstakes!! This is our 4th consecutive year receiving this ribbon. In the past, Villa Maria & Maria Court would compete against each other, so this year we decided to team up. Our window featured American Legion photographs, including a collage of various veteran photos and a vintage poster and magazine covers. There was also an American flag made out of tiny toy soldiers, There were also poppies and a board representing Flanders Field, which is a poem read for military memorials.
